The Linn Dirak Power Supply is designed to enhance the performance of the LK1 Preamplifier and the Aktiv Isobarik Crossover. The more care taken to nurture the signal as close as possible to the source itself, the greater the benefit. At the vital stage of feeding a signal to the preamplifer substantial enhancements in sound quality are possible. Named in honour of a famous physicist, who enjoyed a reputation for playing around with small sparks earlier this century, the Dirak increases the isolation of the LK1 and the Aktiv, making the sound independent of fluctuations in the mains supply.

By employing a high frequency filter on the incoming mains supply, a large transformer, very large reservoir capacitance and output voltage regulators, the Dirak also improves sound quality and consistency. All this circuitry is contained in a screened case, which prevents electromagnetic output from the power supply affecting the audio circuitry of the LK1 or Aktiv.
