Art Audio Quintet 15w EL34 integrated valve amp with Border Patrol power supply

  

In excellent cosmetic condition and perfect working order. The Border Patrol unit is a valve-regulated. Choke input filter that significantly upgrades the sound of the Quintet. The standard Quintet has a beautiful sound - very slightly warm and cohesive, with lovely clarity and resolution, particularly with voice and solo instruments such as piano.

The BP leaves these characteristics unaffected and adds beef - weight, body and presence are all greatly enhanced. I used to love the un-modded Quintet for classical, baroque, and jazz. With rock it was very acceptable, but not great. Once I added the BP, rock became thoroughly enjoyable (meaty, beaty, big and bouncy, as The Who put it) while classical and jazz lost nothing and gained body and dimensionality.

Includes 4 spare EL34 valves, 2 spare ECC83s, 2 spare ECC82s, and one spare GZ valve (for the PSU). T Cool dampers for the preamp valves.

You can see these in the photos. I find they sharpen image definition considerably. Please note that this amp and PSU combination is very heavy, and I do not have packing for them.
