Here is the mighty famous Ifi Zen DAC V2, a great sounding device in great like-new condition. It has moderate use, as I placed it on a physical formats dominated hi-fi home system. When I say "moderate", I mean, being conservative, under 5 hours a week, so it still has many miles to run. It has always been fed from the Ifi iPower 2. This "ultra low-noise power supply" retails for 69 GBP and is included here.

It improves performance and is desirable if you want to avoid noise produced by phones, laptops, or other noisy digital sources. The iPower has been plugged in at the same time to a protected and clean power source, so all the circuitry elements such as resistors and capacitors must be in optimal condition with close to zero degradation.

The headphone outputs haven't been used more than 2 or 3 times as I have a dedicated headphone amp. It comes in its original retail box with RCA cables and a USB data/power cable.

I like the sound of the GTO filter that Ifi offers on its website over the Linear Phase one that comes installed by default, so that is the one that is installed in the unit currently. I can change it on demand and send it with its factory settings if you ask me to do it. It's very easy to change anyway, so you can do it by yourself anytime you want. I recommend you to do it and find your personal preference. GTO is an upsampling filter with improved transients and a more cohesive and refined presentation than the default one (to my mortal pair of ears). It will interpolate any PCM file you play up to the maximum sample rate supported. This will push filtering way beyond the audible threshold and you will notice the difference if you pay attention to high frequencies, especially when using 16/44.1 kHz (CD quality) files that can sound a bit grainy in that region due to filtering artifacts.

Due to upsampling, the LED indicator will always be white (the color assigned to hi-res PCM) no matter the sample rate of the actual file. Some reviewers fail to explain this correctly. It's not a downgrade, it's just the way upsampling works.

LED indicators will show other colors for DSD or MQA files as they have different encoding.
