Naim Headline-2 headphone amp and Naim Hicap-2 power supply. I brought these in 2013 and they have given faultless service since. The Hicap was a dealer demonstration model and the Headline brand new.
They make up the finest headphone amplifier I have heard and work well with a wide range of headphones. They also bring the Naim sound to the headphone world. The Headline-2 is serial No 296xxx so dates from 2010.
The Hicap-2 326xx so manufactured in 2012. The Headline has a captive signal lead that plugs into the preamplifier.
They work best fed from Naim equipment and an RCA to DIN cable would be required (not supplied) to connect to most other manufactures equipment. I can offer no guarantees other than Naim's reputation for build quality.
I also have the original Naim product manuals and the original boxes. For now I'd like to sell them as one lot. Collection only from East Finchley, north London. Update: Ive been asked whether this Hicap hums and my answer is below. This type of low hum is audible close to this type of power supply against a quiet background not through the headphones. The Hicap does hum a bit; some would claim its part of Naims charm. Every one I have used has hummed. I was told it is due to the large toroidal transformers Naim use and noise in city electrical supplies. It has never bothered me - once you put the music on or don the headphones its inaudible. Your question implies this is a fault with some Hicaps but It isnt. Some people are just lucky to have clean electrical supplies. If this type of thing bothers you Id stay well away from Naim and look at other brands. Your offer is not unreasonable but Ill let the sale run for a while. If you can bear it there is a very long discussion of this issue on the Naim forum - welcome to the wonderful world of Naim!
